The Center of Evidence-based Policy Analysis (CEPA) is dedicated to high quality, policy-relevant research in applied economics. Research areas studied by CEPA fellows are diverse, covering questions in labor and welfare economics, behavioral economics, financial markets, and taxation (amongst others). CEPA collaborates closely with the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH).

Michael Koetter and Shuo Xin, from IWH and Uni Leipzig, contributed to a large-scale field experiment on the effect of discretionary choices by researchers on the robustness of empirical tests in financial economics accepted as Menkveld et al., "Non-Standard Errors”, Journal of Finance, forthcoming. [LINK] Lars Otte (Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt) is going to give a talk (in German) on the EU's cohesion policies (EU-Kohäsionspolitik) during the lecture "Makroökonomik". The presentation will take place on Thursday 18.01.2024 at 17.00 o'clock (Gebäude 26-Hörsaal 1). Everyone interested in the talk is welcome to attend.
